£2500 raised for local charities during Shredathon week

Between 25th – 30th January 2021, local residents and businesses took part in a shredathon in support of two local charities; Watford Women’s Centre and Watford Helps Covid-19 Appeal.

Shredpoint, based on Tolpits Lane in Watford offered shredding of confidential documents to members of the public and local businesses and successfully raised £2500 which has been donated equally between the two charities.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said “It is great to have another £1250 donated to the Watford Helps Covid-19 Appeal. This money has gone a long way in supporting local charities around the borough to continue their fantastic work supporting the most vulnerable in Watford throughout the pandemic. Thank you to everyone who got involved, made a donation and to Shredpoint for hosting this fantastic event.”

Director of Shredpoint, Rob Anderson, said “Putting on a Shredathon  Week during lockdown was a gamble which I’m glad to say paid off. There were obviously less people attending but those that came were more generous mainly because of the two great local charities supported, Watford Women’s  Centre and Watford Covid 19 Appeal.”
